The major autumn cleaning of the Saint-Maclou chapel took place on Saturday, November 29th…

They were the team for this autumn !
A big thank you to Annie, Chantal, Paulette, Christopher, Éric, and Hervé who, on Saturday, November 29th, dedicated their time to tackling the dust and various insects that had taken up residence in our chapel.
The results of their work were evident : after they finished, there was a pleasant scent of wax in the air, and the chapel looked brand new. Moreover, the wooden doors, thanks to an effective treatment applied by Hervé, had regained their color.
These two major cleanings, which we carry out twice a year, in the spring and autumn, are a blessing for our chapel.
They allow us to detect the slightest problem and address it appropriately. Looking after it is, and must remain, our priority ! -
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, we participated in the European Heritage Days.

Despite the rain that arrived in the late afternoon, a large crowd made their way to our chapel.
We warmly thank these visitors and hope that now that they know how to find the chapel, we will have the opportunity to see them again !
They were welcomed by two members of our Board of Directors : Annie, who gave tours of the premises, and Henri-Noël, who organised the welcome reception.
We would also like to thank the Calvados Department for giving us this opportunity to showcase the architectural heritage of our chapel.

Seven of them braved the rain before coming to dry out in the chapel.
After a guided tour of the grounds, we gathered in the choir to taste local Norman products. We were delighted to welcome these visitors, who were discovering our small Romanesque chapel for the first time.

THE BIG SPRING CLEANING OF THE CHAPEL OF SAINT-MACLOU
It was Saturday, April 26, 2025

This year, aside from the traditional dusting of every nook and cranny, Christopher and Hervé, our experts in essential repairs, set about renovating the main entrance door: sanding and staining were on the agenda.
Meanwhile, Annie, Jean-Paul, Marielle, and Paulette were hard at work waxing and revitalizing the woodwork, while Henri-Noël was at the helm of the pressure washer to clean the drain around the chapel.
The result: in just a few hours, our chapel regained its color, and a pleasant scent of wax replaced the winter dampness.
Thank you to all for your efficiency and availability.
