Thus, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we were able to address all the items on the agenda, which included a summary of the actions taken in recent months, an outline of the prospects ahead, and a presentation of our projects, ambitions, and objectives.
The agenda was as follows:
• Validation of the quorum
• Reminder of the purpose of our association
• Objectives of the General Meeting
• Moral report and activity report for 2024
• Presentation of the 2024 accounts
• Memberships and contributions
• Renewal and expansion of the Board of Directors
• Developments and projects
• Roundtable discussion
This 18th General Meeting was marked by a tribute to Mr. Jean-Pierre Pierson, a pillar of the association since its creation, who became its honorary vice-president this Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Jean-Pierre, along with Patrick, was the man from the very beginning, a tireless player, present at every moment, who was always ready to give of himself when the first renovation work on the chapel was launched.
After many years of working for the good of the chapel, he had legitimately decided to step back from the association in July 2022, and it is now a great satisfaction for us to see him return to us.
Like Patrick, we can never thank Jean-Pierre enough for his involvement and dedication to us !
Patrick Truffaut, Honorary President and Jean-Pierre Pierson, Honorary Vice-President. At the opening of the meeting, the President thanked Ms. Renée Desveaux, Deputy Mayor of Mézidon-Canon, who had demonstrated her interest in the Chapel of Saint-Maclou through her presence and membership in the association.
Thanks were also extended to the members present, as well as to all those who had sent a proxy to represent them.
Aside from the renewal and expansion of the Board of Directors with two additional members and the confirmation of the President for a new term in office, the discussions focused on current issues that punctuated the 2024 financial year.
After validating the quorum, the 18th General Meeting was declared open. All the items on the agenda having been addressed, the General Assembly ended at 4:30 p.m.We parted after a friendly drink which allowed us to taste Normandy local products in homage to Jean-Pierre Pierson.
(*) We thank Mr. Bruno Guiard, deputy mayor of Mesnil-Mauger, for making the town hall’s wedding hall available to us.
