Détail de l'événement
On Saturday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. at the Saint-Maclou chapel, Father Donat Nsabimana of Notre-Dame de Vie Parish will celebrate the Saint-Marcouf mass.
Saint-Marcouf, the saint to whom the chapel of Saint-Maclou is dedicated, was of Frankish origin.
He was born in Bayeux in 490 and was ordained a priest at the age of 30.
He left to evangelize the Cotentin, his preaching and his generous character provoked numerous conversions in a land marked by superstitions.
He attracted disciples who he brought together in Nanteuil where, in the 6th century, he founded an abbey known as Nantus. He obtained this domain from King Childebert 1ᵉʳ, son of Clovis and Clotilde.
People come to see it for its power to heal skin diseases, especially scrofula (or scrofula), tuberculous abscesses of the neck lymph nodes.
Saint-Marcouf died in Nanteuil in 558, he is celebrated on May 4 in the diocese of Bayeux-Lisieux.
We will be very happy to welcome you on the occasion of this service which is traditionally celebrated at the chapel of Saint-Maclou.
See you soon ,
