At the chapel of Saint-Maclou, on Saturday, November 2, Father Materne celebrated a beautiful mass that was dedicated on this special day to all the deceased.
On this day of commemoration, many faithful were present for this memorial service.
On this day of commemoration, all together, having a thought for those who have left is a way of knowing that they are always present in the depths of our hearts, of speaking of their existence in our conversations and of keeping their memory alive by passing it on to our children and grandchildren.
Thank you to Father Materne for accompanying us on this day in our memories, for giving us the opportunity to meet here, to keep the spirituality of this chapel alive through the services that he comes to celebrate.
Thus, at the invitation of Father Materne, the faithful were able to place a candle on the altar symbolizing the presence of those who have left.
It was an intense moment, of great emotion and communion.
Thank you to all those who came, we hope that our chapel was welcoming, as our association strives to watch over its old stones, to be concerned about its well-being; the heritage that it represents can prove very fragile, if we let time take hold of it!

Thank you all.

Father Materne meets the faithful

Like every year at the same time, Saturday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m. at the chapel of Saint-Maclou, Father Materne ;of the Parish “Notre Dame de Vie” celebrated a mass in honor of Saint-Marcouf.
Saint-Marcouf has a particular importance for our chapel since, along with Saint- Maclou, this place is dedicated to him.
Of Frankish origin, Saint-Marcouf was born in Bayeux in 490 and was ordained a priest at the age of 30.
He attracted disciples whom he gathered in Nanteuil where, in the 6th century, he founded an abbey known as Nantus.
He obtained this domain from King Childebert I, son of Clovis and Clotilde.
People come to see him for his healing powers of skin diseases, especially scrofula, tuberculous abscesses of the neck lymph nodes.
Saint-Marcouf dies in Nanteuil in 558, he is celebrated on May 4 in the diocese of Bayeux-Lisieux.

We thank the many faithful who joined us to honor Saint-Marcouf.
